Sometimes there are just things that we need in our life when traveling to make it easier. You may not know it right now but trust me, you do! Traveling can be stressful sometimes and if you can make it less why not? I am going to give you 5 travel essentials not to forget on your next trip.
I tend to overpack most of the time. Do you? I would rather have too many pairs of shoes or outfits to choose from than not enough. Because I know that one time that I don’t bring something I will regret it! This is something that I am working on streamlining. And I am getting better at it!

1. Lighted Travel Mirror
Good lighting matters when putting on your makeup no matter where you are. I have been in too many hotel rooms that have terrible lighting! And honestly, my eyes are getting to the point where I need a magnifying mirror to apply some of my makeup and most hotels don’t have them. I almost always bring a travel lighted mirror with me when we go anywhere.
It is also helpful as a time saver. I can apply my makeup while my husband is in the bathroom doing his thing and I can set up my mirror outside of the bathroom.
2. Travel Slippers
My husband and I have been bringing slippers with us for years now. We are both kind of germaphobes though! I don’t know if you know this, but hotel rooms rarely have their carpets cleaned or tiles fully moped. I cannot even imagine what is on the carpets in a hotel room. We have “hotel slippers” that we only bring with us on trips.
I try my best not to let my mind go too crazy thinking about hotel rooms and germs or I would never stay in one. But I will never forget when my son was a baby and we stayed at a hotel when he was crawling. It was a nice hotel, but he crawled across the floor and was filthy. That’s when I realized how dirty hotel room floors are. So, slippers it is!
3. Luggage Packing Cubes
These packing cubes are awesome! They have all different combinations and I have linked a few below! I like the ones that have a dirty laundry bag, shoe cube, and multiple-sized mesh cubes.
Don’t you hate not knowing what to do with your dirty clothes on vacation? Most of the packing cube sets come with a dirty laundry bag in which you can put your dirty underwear and socks.
Hello, shoe cubes! I am sure you have read my blog post, 3 Reasons You Should Never Wear Your Shoes in the House. If not, you can read it here. The bottom of our shoes are filthy! I know that I don’t want them touching anything in my suitcase. Shoe cubes are perfect for putting your shoes in for travel.
The multiple-sized mesh cubes can be used in many ways! You can put individual outfits in each one. So, you can just pull out one for each day. Or you can put all your bathing suits in one, tank tops in another, and shorts in one. You get the picture!
4. Travel Jewelry Organizer
My daughter got me the cutest monogrammed travel jewelry case for Christmas! I needed a new one too! It’s important to keep your jewelry from getting tangled during travel.
There are several different options out there for this also! It’s a matter of personal preference and how much jewelry you like to bring with you on vacation!
5. Travel Pill Organizer
I have one of these that I always carry in my purse. I like to be always prepared! Lol! But it’s a great thing to bring on a trip so you don’t have to bring all your bottles. The ones I keep in my purse I keep Advil, Migraine medicine, Lactaid, etc. Not my daily medication. But when you go on vacation, I do use one.
I have linked a few below that I personally like to use because they are compact but hold a lot!
So, do you bring any or all these travel essentials with you on vacation? Do you have any items that you think are important to remember that maybe aren’t your typical item? Please share in the comments below!

I do all of these except the mirror and I like that idea. Would be nice to have better lighting so that solves the problem!
I love bringing my mirror everywhere I go! These old eyes need it! Lol!
