My mom and I go for walks every morning after I eat breakfast. Most mornings I try to make a game out of putting my harness on, but my mom doesn’t seem to find it as funny as I do. She asks me if I am ready for our walk, and I take off running to the other side of the room. I love our daily walks but the mean neighbors I could do without them! More on that later.
I still have the same harness as I did when I was a puppy, I mean I am almost 9 months old now! It’s getting tight and I think my mom finally got the hint and ordered me a new one. I think she might think our “game” will be over every morning, but it won’t be. But don’t tell her that!

Sunshine & Fresh Air On My Daily Walks
I love living in Florida with my mom and dad because it is sunny and warm almost every day here! My mom and I go for short walks during the week down to the pond in our neighborhood. It’s about ½ mile walk every morning.
Sometimes on the weekend when my dad goes, we go on a long walk around the block. My parents are surprised that I can walk that far, it’s over 1 mile! I don’t even get tired. Sometimes I look back at my mom and she looks more tired than I do! There is another dog in my neighborhood and his mom puts him in a stroller for his walks. I asked my mom why I can’t ride in one like him and she told me that I need the exercise! I thought that was kind of rude!
Mean Neighbors
I have been trying to be more friendly and meet some new friends in the neighborhood. My friend that lives next door is nice to me. But I don’t know what is wrong with most of the dogs in our neighborhood. I get excited to see my friends when we are out walking, and they see me coming and they start barking and act like they want to eat me or something.
My mom and dad tell me that I am a good boy because I just look at the other dogs like they are crazy. They are dragging their mom and dad around. And I just keep walking. It kind of makes me sad because I just want to say hi and be friends. The dogs that don’t act like that are mostly in strollers and don’t get out to say hi. Which is kind of rude if you ask me. I met one friend on our walk that came up to say hi and didn’t act like he wanted to eat me.
When you are out on your daily walks with your mom and dad do you run into mean neighbors too? Do they act like they want to eat you? And do you have dogs that ride in strollers or are you one of the lucky ones that get to ride in one?

Shelby is like you, she has to walk as well no strollers for her. Even though that would be kind of funny to see a 55 pound dog in a stroller. LOL. She’s getting pampered today, she’s getting groomed. Because oh boy did she stink and she looked like a sheepdog even though she’s a schnoodle. I loved reading your article.
Thank you Holly for reading my first blog post! I am happy to hear that she doesn’t ride in a stroller either!
