Don’t Forget to Remove Your Makeup!

February 7, 2021 · Beauty

We are given one skin and we need to take care of it. Yes, we do shed skin cells but when we do damage to it, it cannot always be undone. I do not know how many times as a teenager I would sleep with my makeup on if I could tell myself then what I know now!

The sooner we take care of our skin the better it will look for years to come. We all want to look as young as we can for as long as we can, at least those of us that can admit to it! It is never too late to start taking better care of yourself and your skin!

Why should we remove our makeup before we go to bed every night? There are so many reasons but let us dive into a few of the important ones!

Premature Aging

If you do not remove your makeup it can lead to a collagen breakdown which can lead to wrinkles. If collagen is not produced properly your skin will dry out leading to wrinkles and deepening the ones that you already have. It can cause dryness, flakiness, and unevenness. What else can dryness mean? Loss of elasticity, what does that equal? You guessed it! Wrinkles!

Uneven Skin Tone

Have you ever looked at your skin or someone that you knew and thought their skin tone looked uneven? Not removing your makeup can make your skin tone even worse. Your skin regenerates at night and when it is covered up by makeup it cannot do this and will lead to dull, dry, uneven skin.

Clogged Pores

We have all fallen asleep with our makeup on before and what has happened as a result almost immediately? You are blessed with a blemish! Seldom fails, since sleeping with makeup on will clog your pores because it interrupts the cells regenerating and they get blocked.

Eye Irritation

Not removing your eye makeup is never good for your eyes or your lashes! It can cause eye irritation, red, puffy, and swollen eyes. You know the look; it looks like you stayed up late and did not get much sleep! Leaving mascara on can lead to drying and breaking your lashes. We all love our long and beautiful eyelashes, so please take care of them by taking off your makeup! Have you ever had a sty on your eye? They are awful and so irritating; they can sometimes be caused by not removing your eye makeup.

Try to get in a routine, it is much easier not to take off your makeup every night, but your skin will thank you if you start to take care of it. Your skin will start to look smoother, softer, more vibrant, not to mention younger!

My ultimate favorite product for removing my makeup has been Monat’s makeup vanishing balm. A little of this balm will literally melt your makeup off. It is infused with their Rejuveniqe S. It does not feel oily, and your skin will feel so soft and smooth after you use it. I follow up with the Be Gentle Cleanser.

What are you currently using, or do you need help with finding something that will work well for you? Let me know in the comments below!

It's difficult sometimes when someone hurts us. We sometimes wonder why God "isn't doing anything" about the bad things in the world, or the bad people in our lives.
But it isn't up to us. We only need to worry about ourselves. He sees it all, the good and the bad. And sometimes we only see a small part of what is really going on in someone's life. It is easy to make a judgment. It is difficult to 👇
Give it to God 🤍

There are a lot of benefits to having a dog, besides unconditional love. 🤍 Studies have shown that just petting a dog can:
• Lower your blood pressure
• Lower heart rate
• Slows breathing
• Relaxes muscle tension
I think Theo has been doing a good job of all of the above! I won't even get into what he does when I have a migraine. 🤯 Dogs are amazing. 🤍
Do you have a dog? Do you agree with what these studies have shown?

It took me a while to find some barstools that I liked. I didn’t want your classic ones. I wanted a coastal feel to them. I also didn’t want to spend an arm & a leg for them! Can you believe how expensive bar stools have gotten?! 🫣
I am a bargain shopper and I finally found these at @target of all places! I have them linked over on my 𝐋𝐓𝐊 𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐞 if you want to check them out. 👇

Happy Easter friends! Jesus' story didn't end on the cross. It only just began.
Sometimes on our hardest days or toughest times in life we look back and realize it was the beginning of something good. 🤍

If you have read any of my blog posts over on 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐠 then you know that drinking your water is important for both healthy skin and hair.
Our body is made up of about 50-70% water. So, staying hydrated is important! Experts recommend that you drink half your body weight in ounces.
I was gifted this great water bottle to help me remember to drink my water from @venturepal_usa. It has such cute reminders on it to help keep you motivated throughout the day! They also come in different sizes and colors.
How much water do you drink every day? I need to drink more so hopefully this will help! 🤍

The world around us can get stressful. We have become a society of being "honest" to the extent that it doesn't matter if it's true but it's that person's opinion. Opinions have become facts. I don't know about you, but a lot of this causes me anxiety.
Do you struggle with anxiety? If not, you are lucky. But if you do all is not lost. The Bible talks about anxiety and worry. God doesn’t want us to be anxious, He wants us to come to Him for help. Remember, you are never alone!
Head over to 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐠 to read our post, I'm Only Talking To Jesus Today! When I am worried and anxious, I often find myself going into this mode.
We are sharing a few tools to help get you through those times. The link is in our profile! 🔗

This has been a rough week for a lot of us on many levels. What makes evil happy? Tearing each other apart, dividing, and breaking down. How do we overcome evil? With good.
Be good. Be kind. Don't participate in the unkindness and negativity. And above all else, pray. 🤍
