Who doesn’t love a good gadget? I know that I do. But there can be a fine line between collecting more clutter and useful things in our house. If you have been around here a while you know that I do not like clutter. So, a good gadget must be useful for me to want it. I found a few recently so I am sharing a few house gadgets you need!
Must husband is an electronic gadget guy and I am more of a useful around the house kind of gadget girl. Lol! I have had a few failed attempts with my house gadgets. And I probably should share those at some point. I try to be careful before I buy them otherwise, I just end up decluttering them from the house. If you need help with decluttering, we have several blog posts to help with that. You should start here.

Magnetic Doorstop
I don’t know where these have been all my life, but they are amazing! We had French doors put in our Primary bedroom and they tend to not stay open all the way by themselves. It drives me nuts!
I have used wedge doorstops in the past and do not like them for two reasons. First, you hit your feet on them. I had a cute iron pineapple one in the past. And it never failed, stubbing my toes on it. The second reason, you must physically put it in place and take it away. And it can get misplaced!
The magnetic doorstop works perfectly and is not any bigger than a normal one. The magnet holds the door open, and you can give a gentle tug on the door handle to pull it away from the magnet to close the door. They come in several colors to match your décor! Sofa Tray
We have a sectional that has a large ottoman as a coffee table. My favorite spot on the sectional is of course in the corner L where I can put my feet up! What I didn’t like about it was I didn’t have a place to put my drink. I know, first-world problems!
Well, I stumbled upon this flexible wood sofa tray that I put on the back of my sectional. Now I can place my drink well within my reach. Lol! I like this one because it is wood and looks better than most of the other ones that I have seen. It has fabric on the bottom, so it won’t slip off the sofa.
I have linked the photo to Amazon in case you want to check it out. I will also link a few other options below.
Cord Labels
I like to be organized. Doesn’t it seem like everything comes with its own charging cord, you throw them all in a drawer and then forget what cord goes with what. Some cords are universal, but others aren’t.
I have been trying to solve this problem with cable labels. And before you suggest using tape which I have used before please don’t. I don’t like how it can leave a sticky residue behind or you must get it on there just right for it to line up just right.
These cord labels I found on Amazon are Velcro and have a few different sizes to choose from! You could even use these for cord organization behind the TV or your computer. So many options for organization. Lol!
Earrings as Pushpin
This is not a gadget that I bought but an idea that I saw recently that I absolutely love! I cannot wear most earrings due to sensitivity. And I have earrings from my mom and sister that I have and cannot use.
I saw an idea to use earrings as pushpins on your bulletin board. What a fun way to use them and be able to see them daily as a reminder of a loved one!
You could also do this with any earrings that have lost their partner. Do you have a favorite pair of earrings that are sentimental, and you lost one of them? Use the remaining one as a pushpin!
I would love to know your thoughts on my newest house gadgets I thought you needed! I will keep you updated on any new ones that I come across. Remember, gadgets shouldn’t become clutter in your home!
Please share in the comments any new gadgets that you have found that you think we might need!
