Is there anything such as modern 80’s hair? I like to think so! I am an 80’s girl so that would make me forty “somethingish” but we aren’t going to talk about that right now. Most women that grew up in the ’80s wore their hair “big”. I don’t think that I was ever really able to get past the teased hair look. I like the way southerners refer to it, ” the higher the hair the closer to heaven”. Love it! That makes it sound a little better in my mind, more modern!
I still tease my hair every day, I use an aerosol while I am styling my hair. My favorite is Bed Head Masterpiece, it gives you a little hold while you are styling and you are able to brush through it and it doesn’t flake. I have also tried many different tools to tease my hair and keep going back to the same old thing! A Cricket Static Free, small barrel round brush, and a teasing comb. I will link all of the things in this post on my “Favorite Things” page. After I have finished with my teasing and styling, I finish with Paul Mitchell Freeze and Shine Spray. I kind of like the stiff finish of the spray, I am not one for having the wind in my hair 🙂
During the past few months, a lot of us have been working from home due to Covid-19 and social distancing, I have been working from home and I have tried a few times just doing my usual washing my hair daily and blow-drying with my large ceramic round brush and not doing the teasing thing. I just couldn’t get used to it and I don’t feel put together. I have two pictures below, one un-teased and one with my normal teased look. I also included one for fun, it’s a blast from the past, an original ’80s look!
I know some people do not like to use hair spray much less to tease their hair. What is everyone else’s opinion of teased hair vs. natural? What do y’all do? (see what I did there!)
